any product can be sold using the ecom.module, or do you mean you want to sell an online gift certificate ?

a little more verbose request would be helpful to fully understand your desire here.

Sorry, what I'm looking to do is allow a user to purchase a gift certificate to give to someone else. At which time the coupon/gift certificate would be created and emailed to them.

gotcha, thats sounds more like a feature request that you can place in the feature request area of the ecom module.

I know of no other module that does what you ask, though you can check the ubercart.module which I think is the only other ecom type module that is being actively developed.
