Feed Element Mapper is a wonderful addition to the FeedAPI module! Thanks for writing it.

It would be really cool, if you were able to write text to a special field in the Feed Element Mapper User Interface and Feed Element Mapper maps that text to a chosen node field (just like it works with the feed information).

For example I have a RSS feed and a node with the fields title, body, industry.
I would like Feed Element Mapper to map feed->title to node->title, feed->body to node->body and *the text I have written to the special field* (for example *Automotive*) to node->industry.

Is there a chance this could be included to Feed Element Mapper? Or does someone have an tip of how this could be done?

Would it not make more sense:
(i) for mapping a taxonomy term onto imported feed nodes?
(ii) for this to be done at the FeedAPI level rather than Element Mapper. Something like the ability for nodes to inherit their Feed Item's taxonomy terms for example?

Or do I misunderstand the requirement?

I agree w/ ekes. This is not really a feed element mapper task. I would use inheritable taxonomies with the feedapi_inherit module.
