I am sure this has been asked and answered but I cannot find it.

I wanted to know how to upgrade a module. The only documents I can find are how to upgrade the core install.

I want to upgrade fivestar beta3 to beta4. Do I just untar and replace the current fivestar directory and run the upgrade script? Do I need to disable the module first?

Replace the folder.
Then run update.php (link on the modules page)
