Installing GEO module is a good option?

We are redesigning the Nabuur website. We connect communities from the developing world with people with knowledge that could help develop projects. We would like to use Google maps like technology to display geographical content.

The obvious use for this is to display the various Nabuur villages on a map. However this could easily be extended to include the location of tasks, resources, users that assist a village etc.

What type of approach would you recommend?. Have you worked with them?. Would you like to maybe give them a try during the design of our new site?
