Donations to charitable organisations

Hi there,

I'm a newbie to Drupal and am enjoying it very much :-)

Having joined The Donkey Sanctuary as their web developer recently, I'm in the processs of replacing their existing websites using Drupal.

and going the whole open source route.

I'm looking for a module that will handle online donations for specific appeals as well as perhaps a general one that the users can select to make one-off payments or regular payments. Does a module exist for this?

I took a look at the lm_drupal module and this is for handling payments via PayPal.

The Donate Project module looks promising and is currently an alpha release.

Can anyone recommend a module?

I also will be wanting to replace the online gift shop too, so will need to find a module for handling that too. I have no experience of e-commerce, so any recommendations gratefully received.

I had been looking at this last week. With little eCommerce experience, I ought to just take the plunge and see what happens! I visited the Ubercart website and went through the mock demo and was impressed.

Yep, a very good demo. I think I need to understand the online payment part of it all and find out what the Sanctuary does at the moment. It doesn't have a brilliant on-line donation set up on the current website -- http://www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/

Does Ubercart handle online donations/gift aid?
