Hi,
It's finally time to add our site to the Drupal Showcases and we're really satisfied. We have converted our PHPNuke (Mac1) and postNuke (Linux1) sites and have now opened our new Drupal-based sites to the public.
Mac1.no is the largest Norwegian daily updated Mac-portal, and Linux1.no is the largest Norwegian Linux-portal. Together the two sites have over 3200 members, 150 000 visitors per month and nearly a million page views. Our forums are based on PHPBB and the forum is integrated with Drupal trough our own code, this code will be GPLed later - when the developer (arkepp here on Drupal.org) has the time to look it trough.
Our sites just opened two days ago, and we're still busy finding bugs and tweaking our sites so bare with us if it doesn't work 100% perfectly.
We will be opening our third site - iPod1.no - within the next few weeks. This site will also be based on Drupal, converted from phpnuke.
You can find the sites at :

http://www.linux1.no
We love feedback!
Best Regards

Nice sites !Especially
Nice sites !
Especially since from now on I'll know they are running the most advanced cms ever :)
PS! But how about sharing the norwegian translation of Drupal you have there? It seems more complete than the current norwegian in CVS. I've been working on making a complete and high quality norwegian translation according to guidelines and dictionaries from the SkoleLinux project, but it's a work in progress, I have not finished yet. Many modules are fully translated however.
Very nice
Very nice sites. I'll join bohtho in asking you to make the translation public. It seems like you've used some of my translation so it might be a fair wish :)
We'll put the translations
We'll put the translations up here ASAP. 72% of Drupal is translated. We have done it from scratch and not used your translation adagio :) Took some time.
Thanks
Great work! I'll probably get some use for this. Thanks for contributing.
BTW, I found a small error on the user page: "Medlem i: &count uker 5 dager".
(figured you'd used mine since some of the wording were the same, but we both built on the same original, so there's some change for that I guess ;-).
Any chance of you uploading
Any chance of you uploading this translation soon so I can merge it with my own and hopefully upload an even more complete one ?
Nice
Nice clean design.
Good graphics in header and footer.
Fluid layout and good choice of color.
Still looks a bit drupalish though (e.g polls).
Good job.

Licensing clarification (based on FriendsElectric)
Some of you might notice the theme looks a bit like FriendsElectric, but is not GPL licensed.
Yes the theme is based on FriendsElectric, but there is no GPL violation as Mats hired me to help out with their theme. I gave them a non-GPL license on the derived theme, because I believe sharing a theme designed for a single site does more harm than good.
If they still want to release it under the GPL, that is their choice, but they have no obligation to do so.

GPL with PHP code?
I would've thought GPL is a relatively moot point with PHP code.
After all, unless you somehow compile or obfuscate the PHP the person getting the code has access to the source anyway. And until GPL v3 at least, the license on the code doesn't apply to web site users either.
ie if I make a derivative work, and start distributing it to other webmasters they are automatically getting the source. They being the only recipients of the code means that they are the only ones that I'm required to give the source to, and there isn't any requirement for them to show their site users the PHP. The only thing I really need to make sure of is that I include the original copyrights and GPL license with what I give them - ie I can't change the license or remove anyones copyright notices. The source distribution bit takes care of itself.
Or am I barking up the wrong tree there?
I understand that being the author of Friends Electric you can relicense it anyway you like, what I was getting at is that even if you had've given them a GPL version they still wouldn't have had any requirement to show anyone else the source just by using the theme (as I understand it).
Or were you just trying to head off any responses from anyone that tried to demand they be opened up because of the GPL? Not pointing fingers at anyones comments so far - they're just polite suggestions :)
And just to finish off - nice work!
Note: when talking about 'I' or 'me' that was just hypothetical - we aren't distributing code to anyone else, and any hacks we make either stay on our own site (if silly) or get submitted back to drupal.org (if useful enough) :)
The sites looks wonderful!
The sites looks wonderful! Very clean and uncluttered. With just the right amount of graphics to catch a persons attention.
If I may ask, which version of Drupal are you running, and what are you using to display your taxonomy images?
taxonomy images
I added an explanation here:

The real taxonomy module would obviously be a better choice. We're currently running 4.5.2, but will move up once things settle.
yes, its great, and have you
