Whenever I go to the Edit menu of the Profile page, where the avatar selection is located for the users, Safari 2 crashes. I disable the plugin and the page loads fine.
I'm using a fresh install of drupal 6 stable and I tried it with both your stable and dev version of this module.
I have switched between 5 different Themes still same problem.
I have the latest install of Safari and my computer is up to date. Can someone please help me out?

I can only have a Safari 3 version for Windows XP and I can't reproduce it using that. I presume you're using Safari 2 on a Mac? When you say Safari crashes, what exactly happens? Do you get any errors? Have you tried any other browsers? If you have Firefox installed, do you see any errors in Firefox's Error Console tool (under Tools menu)?

I presume when you said "Whenever I go to the Edit menu of the Profile page", you mean the "Edit" tab of the "My Account" page, right?

Can you send me your avatar selection configuration settings? How many avatar images do you have? How big are they and what format (gif, jpg, etc) are they?

A new dev version of the module will be available at some point today. It fixes the issue described in #227089 where uploaded files were being removed by cron after 24 hours. It's probably unrelated to this issue, but there's no harm in retesting with this newer version. There are no other changes in this dev version.

I have 30 avatars loading per page
83 avatars all together
gifs at 75x75 ranging from 1KB to 7KB

I noticed that even though I tell it only 30 per page, it still loads all 83 avatars all at once. Check out the screen shot I managed to get before the browser crashed.

I'm thinking that too much is loading and safari is tanking.

Is there a way to have it only load what is on the page and then load the rest when the users cycle through the pages?

Can you let me know how you got on with the latest dev release? I don't have a Mac to test on. It has a good few performance enhancements added, along with a better system for managing avatars.
