Hey there,
I have a simple problem... which I hope has a simple solution!
http://www.anppcan.org/newsite/resources
All of these links need to have PDFs associated with them.
The idea is... we have a Resources page. Under different headings (Annual Reports.. Newsletters).. there is a collection of PDFs that can be easily downloaded by the user. Separated by headings. Just links to the relevant PDF. Should be pretty simple.
I've been able to upload a file using the file attachment module... but it appears at the bottom of the page. As far as I can tell... these is no possible way to edit the location (on the page) of this uploaded file. For example... If I could get 08_ANPPCAN_BusinessCard.pdf to appear under a desired heading... this could potentially solve the problem. It appears the attachment will only appear at the very bottom of the page.
I must be missing something here... attaching a PDF to a link has gotta be easier than this. The guy at the organization here is not very computer-savvy... so a simple solution is required.
I would think it would be as simple as highlighting the text... clicking attach file... browsing for the file to upload... clicking on uploaded file... and BAM... you got a text link associated with a file on your server. I know... I'm dreaming here... but maybe not..? I'm not sure... I'm new to Drupal... any advice or recommendations would be deeply appreciated!
Thanks!

you should be able to access
you should be able to access the link in the node array...
but I'm facing a similar challenge - I need to manage a bunch of PDFs and can't figure out how to attach tags or some taxonomy to individual files so they can be sorted... anyone want to weigh in on solutions? I've been searching, but key words like PDF upload attachment don't seem to return much that's helpful!?!
Me too
I am investigating various modules for Drupal 5, I want to be able to browse to a document manager from editing the node in Admin mode. I'll post my research as soon as I have some answers!
So far there are some disjointed solutions, because for many users posting YouTube videos or images is a higher priority. Still, I am extremely impressed by Drupal and the strength of the community so I'm sure I can find something - at which point I'll share my golden nuggets on this here forum.
If it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Among my needs is the simple ability to manage files and subsequent revisions of files, all of which need to be presented to users for them to download and to upload new versions. They'll be PDFs and other formats (Visio, Autodesk, others). Seems like basic thing but I haven't learned how to do it. Think I should be looking at a different product?
