Here is a version 6 module that seems to work on my test site.

I fixed a few bugs for 5 and posted a patch here http://drupal.org/node/245044
and a related fix for http://drupal.org/node/214808
I also integrated the bug fix from levavie at http://drupal.org/node/209835

Please integrate my patch from here so that it stops scrolling when hovering over the scrolltext area.

The module uses marquee, which is a deprected and non-standard HTML element. Better have an option to use javascript, like in the new drupal 6 Ticketyboo news ticker module.

Does the D6 Ticketyboo works for you?
