Tokens do not appear to work in "Viewer permission restriction"

I wanted to create a custom link at the end of each node "Add your own [type-name]" linking to "node/add/[type]" which all works as expected - but one thing that doesn't is "create [type] content" for permissions - that would also hide it from users that are not logged in etc.
