I just uploaded the FCKeditor but unfortunately I get either a "page not found" error in the box where the editor should be or the editor doesn't show up at all.

I run the default settings. Do I have to change anything in the settings or what could be the problem?

Thanks
Gaby

You need to provide more information to help you on this.
Ideally, please provide a link to a place where I could see it.

Make sure that you have also uploaded FCKeditor into modules/fckeditor/fckeditor directory.
You may also check your logs and/or use Fiddler + IE or Firefox + Tamper Data to trace HTTP requests to find out why you get the 404 error.
Also Firefox + Firebug is ideal to find any javascript bugs that may cause FCKeditor is not showing up.

Uninstalled FCKeditor and reinstalled the new file - works fine now.
Thanks

Title: Page not found or editor doesn't show up at all » fckeditor doesn't show up under modules even though it can be found manually.
Version: 6.x-1.x-dev » 6.x-2.x-dev

this works:
http://www.free-soup.com/sites/all/modules/fckeditor/fckeditor/_samples/...

and yet I don't see the fckeditor in the modules under administration>site building>modules.

What do I do?
