I entered the following rewrite rule in the .htaccess file on my root directory of the domain, but it is still not working. Where do i put the following exactly? do i create a new tag at the bottom of the drupal rewrites? and im guessing it has be be closed too... the solution wasnt very clear. hopefully this can help alot of other people have the same problem.

RewriteEngine on
#
# stuff to let through (ignore)
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} "/folder1/"
RewriteRule (.*) $1 [L]
#

- also tried to google what does request_URI stand for.. didnt really find anything. can someone explain?

i would assume this would be a common problem that would have been solved already. I think were the only ones that don't have a full grasp on how to write our own mod rewrites. Anyone else?

I also get stuck almost many time with configuring the .htaccess.
This is always dependent how the Host did configure the Apache server, I know that looks
sometimes frustrating but anyone that really wants to manage this have to go through Apache Documentation about Mod_rewrite Good Luck!
