I'm a bit confused about the versions for Buddylist 5.x-1

According to the project page the development version is now behind the official release and the 'official release' is a beta which presumably means it's not suitable for using on production sites? but it has been a beta since November?

I'd love to add the new features which have been going into the beta - is there a date when it's likely to stop being a beta and become an official release - or is it already?

Hi,

My current workload has not allowed me adequate time to keep up on buddylist. Also with Drupal 6 out and buddylist 2 appearing to be the future of buddylist some motivation has been lost on my part. Regardless, I will take a look at the issue queue and see if there are any outstanding bugs for the current beta release. I won't be considering features at this time. Assuming there are no serious bugs I think the beta is ready for release, in fact, I'm using the beta code base on my current project which is nearly ready to go into production. I don't think you need to avoid using the beta version.
