Cannot Weigh Components

Cannot weigh components from the main edit menu despite drop down boxes being present. Must edit each individual component in order to weigh them. Yes, I've made sure I submit or save the webform after making the weight changes from the main edit menu. The changes don't take.

Solutions could be:
a) remove the drop down (select list) for the weight from the main menu and just display the weight
b) fix the logic so the weight can be changed from the main edit menu.

If I'm doing something wrong/stupid, please let me know.
