The module doesn't seem to take into account that a user in one timezone may wish to enter information about an event in another timezone. The event either always gets tagged with the user's timezone, or the the default site timezone if user timezones aren't configurable; and the actual timezone location of the event is not taken into account.

on admin/settings/event, for 'Event timezone input:' select 'Allow users to set event timezones'. Users will then be provided with a dropdown of timezones to specify which timezone the event occurs in.
