I've setup a feed and it's working fine - but it doesn't seem to want to save to one of my Item Taxonmies - a Freetagging vocabulary (and the term is therefore not appearing on the feed items)

The module wasn't tested with a free-tagging vocabulary. One alternative would be to remove the free tagging from the vocabulary until you create your feed then revert it back to free-tagging. Not tested though.
