Hi,
My web host provides a lot of CMS's under this fairly common software installer called "Fantastico". I notice that Drupal 5.3 seems like the best of the bunch, and also that it's getting old.

Should I worry that I'm wedded to 5.3?

Install Drupal 5.7 manually. It's as easy as a fantastico install and you won't be behind in security updates.
