I see there's a mechanism whereby user comments can be held until approved by a moderator.

Is there some way to achieve the same thing, but with user-contributed Stories? I.e. users are allowed to submit content, but it doesn't appear until blessed by a moderator?

There are moderation type modules in the downloads area.
