Hi,

I was given a task to build a personal site with a blog function.

I don't have very much experience with blogging and time is too short to test all available modules.

So, I would like to know which other modules (besides blog module) do I need to make good blog site with drupal.

best regards
zoff

I'd start with the documentation here:

http://drupal.org/handbook/site-recipes

It includes "recipes" for a single-user blog, a personal site, and many more concepts.

Good luck!

thanks for you answer

Personaly I prefer to build personal website in drupal. But there is fact that I have to include the blog function I am even considering making webpage in wordpress.

I have one more question:

Has wordpress something crucial that (maybe) drupal hasn't in the blogging area which I should put in consideration, and vice versa ?

all helpfull answers are appreicated

I don't know that there's much involved to "include the blog function" in Drupal; after all, if I'm not mistaken, all you need to do is make sure the Blog module is enabled. That's it; the blog is ready to go (though additional optional features, of course, may be added).

Re differences w/ Wordpress: Good question; sorry, I've never used WP, so will leave the question for others to answer. I'd guess that the biggest difference is: Greater ease of getting started w/ WP than w/ Drupal for a simple blog (easier installation and initial overall configuration); after that, either site is roughly equally easy to maintain, though the Drupal site will be more flexible for future expansion.

But that's just guessing based on comments heard here and there. It'd be interesting to see an answer from someone knowledgeable.
