When there is only a flat rate for shipping the button (calculate shipping costs) is still being displayed. It would be more user friendly if the costs would then appear directly without having to click the button.

Truly flat rate shipping is a very special edge case. By combining the flatrate module with workflow-ng, you can create all kinds of scenarios that cause the shipping rate to change. The checkout page can't tell if this is happening beforehand, so the button is displayed.
