Hi

I´ve decided to develope my first big project on drupal.
I estimate an amount of 500 and more users.
All seems realy well, but I´ve one simple question.
Which "Gallery" maybe the right one for my needs.

My needs are:

- Per User-Album with sub- albums and elements
- Support of Pictures and Videos

It would be nice to have:

- A Remote Interface for connecting a Win Client (selfmade)
- FFMPEG Support
- "Easy to code" for a Module which should enhance UserPoints functionality

I´ve tested lots of ways/modules on Drupal 5 and 6.
My favorite is Gallery2 with the Drupal Gallery Module.
But it´s realy powerful. Maybe to powerful ?

It would be very nice if anybody with some experience at this can tell a little bit about...

Just to let you know... As you've tagged this for 6.x releases, the 6.x Gallery module is only compatible with the unreleased 2.3 SVN version of Gallery2... Not ideal for live sites.

I know that and I´ve used the 2.3 nightly build for Drupal 6 and 2.2 for Drupal 5.
Till here it´s only testing the functions and usement.

But I think Gallery2 is to powerful!?

So I want to know if someone has experience with Gallerys in Drupal...

Uhhh yeah, but you've missed my point; you're asking which is the better gallery program, but you really can't include Gallery2 as a choice for 6.x as it's not finished, not stable and a possible security risk putting it on a live site. This is why it's marked SVN for developers and testing only...

Gallery2 is by far the best way to have galleries on your sites, but it depends on what you want from a gallery program as to whether you can 'make do' with using say, the image galleries module. Sometimes simplicity is a better option... The skill level of some of my users means that one of my sites uses image galleries (6.x) and another the gallery2 module (5.x).

I've not really used Acidfree myself, but I've heard good things about it. From what I understand, it's kind of halfway between image galleries and Gallery2.
