Installation of new theme

I uploaded tapestry and renecance themes in themes directory but both themes are not showing up in theme control list and I am struck up.
Please help.

Seems my problem is not serious
I understand ...as I feel so but as i am not well know to this....i am depending on help only.
Worked hard to find answer by punching keywords but could not come to any solution.
Please help...
With new themes you should
With new themes you should upload them to the /sites/all/themes folder. This is a best practice to follow. You'll need to create the "themes" folder in your /sites/all directory first.
Also, what Drupal version are you using? Not all themes are working with version 6 yet.
I see Tapestry only has a version listed for 5, so it might not be working in 6.
Theme issue
This is file name: tapestry-5.x-1.x-dev.tar
I am trying to upload this as per your suggestion- hope this will work. Otherwise, I will delete and look for 6.0 version [ I used filter in drupal to get themes for 6.0 ]

Nothing - no theme showing
After uploads....no theme showing up. So deleting them. What should I do ?
