Hi; the web site I work on (ProgressiveU.org) has used the "Userpoints" Module for a long time (about a year or so) to help determine winners for a scholarship that we hand out twice a year. I recently installed Fasttoggle just before this most recent scholarship competition started, but found that when the moderators used Fasttoggle to promote or unpublish a user's blog, that user was given more points, and then when Fasttoggle was used to unpromote or republish that blog again, more points were added.

For the time being, I've disabled Fasttoggle - as we can't allow the points to get too far out of whack. Any way I can fix this, or ideas on how to keep fasttoggle from giving points to users?

I had this posted as a support request on the Fasttoggle page as well, but someone suggested that it might be in the code for the userpoints module that is causing a "bad reaction" to the fasttoggle module?

Thanks.

Do you have a development site available for someone to hack around on?

Hi :)

Yes. You can go into http://test.progressiveu.org.

I just went through to make sure that both userpoints and fasttoggle are installed there and enabled. Although now I've got more problems going on there :( But it's there if you have a minute to look around for this one.

Thank you very much!

The username/password didn't work, sorry. Please contact me off list if you'd like to pass back username/passwords.

Now go reset that password!!!!

I tested this on a fresh install of
Drupal 5
userpoints 3.4
fasttoggle 5.1.0 and 5.1.x-dev

Everything worked as advertised and points were not awarded twice for published/unpublished states.

I have however observed it on your development site as well as your production site so there is a problem but it doesn't happen with the latest stable downloads with a fresh install.

The one difference I see is that on your site published/unpublished happens with a nice ajaxy flair. What module makes that happen or do you have some custom code in? I didn't dig into code to figure out the various pieces as I simply don't have the time so if you could do a bit more research to help narrow down this bug I'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure I know what you mean. I thought the ajaxy thingy was just part of the fasttoggle module?

At any rate, we don't have anything customized for it. It looks as though when we installed the tooltips module a few months ago (back in September, I think it was) it upgraded the JQuery we were using. Other than that module, the only other module that uses ajax is the Thickbox module, which was installed last year in about July. But the only thing we use that for right now is a video.

But I'll keep looking around a bit. And I've read your post on the other support forum as well; I should be able to look through that tomorrow.

Thank you so much for the help :)

Status: Active » Closed (won't fix)

Sorry for spamming the participants in this issue. Due to the release of Drupal 7 and the lack of time from the maintainers, I'm closing all remaining 5.x issues for Userpoints.

Feel free to re-open this issue or create a new one for 6.x or even better 7.x if this bug is still open or feature is missing for these versions.
