This one has me beat, users are able to access the forum but when they try "Post new forum topic" it come back access denied.

I'm running TAC and did have Forum_Access installed but it has since been uninstalled. Both appear to be configured correctly, and disabling them didnt solve the problem. The really annoying thing is this was all working and then at some point in the past few weeks it died a silent death (it is currently a very low use forum).

Is there some easy way to see what is causing the access permissions problem? The uninformative 403 error is not much help at the moment.

Fixed,

The menu access privileges were the culprit, still working despite the menu item being disabled.
