i need to change one of the user's email id. it has something called 'telia.com' extension. eg xyz@telia.com
under admin>user account>account settings>
when i change the email id and submit the info, i get this message "The e-mail address xyz@telia.com is not valid."
why is it so. i know the email id works fine.
can u pls help. it is important i update the email address field.

I cannot reproduce what you report using Drupal 5.7. Do you have problems changing the e-mail address to anything, or just xyz@telia.com?

You might try disabling any contrib modules to see if one of them is interfering with your changing the e-mail address. The site I tested on is using a number of contrib modules, but none of them involve checking or testing user e-mail addresses, etc.
