Interessting module. I have marked "save as draft" on a content type and added a node with a checkmark in "save as draft". However, it does not appear in either the block "pending drafts" or under admin/content/content/draft? If I go back to the node, it still have a checkmark in "save as draft"...

Am I missing something here?

Do you have revisions enabled?

Yes, I have 'Create new revisions' enabled on the content type. I've tried to disable and enable it, but no changes when I add a node.

I'm not sure, but it seems like you want to use the publish/unpublish functionality.

This module allows previously published nodes to have future 'drafts' saved in their revisions.

For new nodes, just created, there would be no 'future' revision, just the current one. If you don't want anyone to see this node simply un-publish.
