using dupal 5 with e-Commerce.
I am struck with using subproducts
I need to configure to sell packets of paper
Of sizes : A4, A6
Of count: 100, 200
Of thickness: 114gsm, 240 gsm
I have tried the e-Commerce's built in Subproducts
As well as eCLive Subproducts
Attempt 1) Activated the Subproducts builtin module
"Subproducts" appeared in eCommerce Configuration in Admin panel
however it has no option to manage subproducts. it has the following options only.
Delete child products:
Enable this setting to have subproducts automatically deleted when their parent product is deleted.
Now tried the "product variation" in the admin section
Product variations
Please choose a product type from the task list. From there you can setup variations and attributes for the product types.
the list was empty
So to add subproducts i tried
Create Content--> Product--> Shippable Product
However i cant find any option to create subproducts here also. just the normal "create product" fileds
Attempt 2
Activated the ecLIVE subproducts module
And the Tangible Subproduct module that comes with ecLive subproduct.
Now went to "Subproduct attributes" in admin panel
Selected " Create Variations." (the link to "create variations" is actially http://saco.in/admin/content/taxonomy/4/add/term )
which means that variations are actually created as a taxonomy term terms.
Gave "Term Name" as size (since I want sizes A4,A6) -- Submit
But again i go to administer -- Subproduct attributes == i see "There is no variations or attributes."

Using the built-in EC subproducts, what you do is after you've created a product content type, then create variations and attributes for that content type at admin/ecsettings/variation.
For example, a variation would be Size and the attributes for size might be A4 and A6.
After that, when you create something of that product type, you'll be able to choose which attributes that specific product has and the system will then create the appropriate subproducts as part of the process.

here is what i did, i created a new product
added variation and two attributes under that variation for "Tangible Subproduct"

i cannot specify any of the variationsattributes there..

I'm having a similar situation in trying to create variations (sizes) for shirts. I've created the size variations and am able to select them when creating or editing a product. However when I edited a product to include the size variations the spot where the "Add To Cart" once was replaced by medium | large | x-large links below. The links are just for the taxonomy terms and go nowhere, they simply add the term to the node header when clicked. So now I have the variations displayed but no way for a user to add the item to his or her cart because the variations have replaced any "Add To Cart" link. I want a way to display a dropdown menu or radio buttons so the user can select the variation (size) and then add it to the cart. Is this not possible?
