Support for Drupal 6?

I'm also very interested, because i don't need any wysiwyg editor and such. I only need ascii smileys to work, that would be really great!

I'm waiting for this either :)

I have found an pragmatic solution;

Use flexifilter for 6.x : http://drupal.org/project/flexifilter

Then make simple text replace OR regex replace for the smiley symbol.
I've made the replace string like this;

And upload you're smileys to a directory for it.

Works great, but i'd rather have the real smileys filter for 6.x ;)
