Social networking Forbes website

i'm new here and i really like drupal , i heared about it from a lot of forums and i can feel its power:)

i visited the Drupal driven website http://officepranks.forbes.com
i found :
1- a profile creator module
2- internal messaging
3- connection between members
4- instant messaging

does all those module exists or they create some of them from scratch, i would like to create the same thing for my university students and i would like to add:

5- video gallery
6- photo gallery
7- music gallery

but i don't know if Drupal modules can satisfy my needs for that website.

thanks in advance

that's really a good and powerfull Cms .i'll look to the modules you advised me and i'll try .
many thanks to you and to drupal.

P.s.
Drupal 5 or Drupal 6?

looks like drupal 5, so yes, all modules

so for profile creator - that's like node profile module http://drupal.org/project/nodeprofile which turns a 'content type' into a profile, and using cck - http://drupal.org/project/cck - they were able to add all sorts of custom fields to a profile...internal messaging is the messenger module - http://drupal.org/project/messenger - and connections between members is buddylist -http://drupal.org/project/buddylist - and instant messaging is a module like http://drupal.org/node/14553 - and don't forgot for these (all) there are some add-ons to consider (node privacy - to restrict access to profiles, or views to customize display of anything and so on)...

as for music, photo and video there are MANY modules for that - you should browse http://drupal.org/project/Modules and think about what you want (like gallery module from menalto, and lightbox2 for nifty pop-up galleries and so on...other modules will let users upload entire videos and will auto=convert to flash and so on..

once you get into it, you'll find that it's not rocket science - it's about workflow and finding the right module features that you can bend to your will to get the site behavior that you want...

Thanks Zilla , i thought that Drupal is only for developer, it has this image of "Only Developers please! "
may be with more study and effort it can be easy for me to use Drupal for my social networking web site.
i might ask you the same question that i askedrakisisesindekibalik:
about wich version of drupal it's better to use Drupal 5 or Drupal 6 at the moment?

Modules for Drupal 6 have not caught up yet. Based on what you seek, I'd start with Drupal 5 until such time as all modules you build your site with on Drupal 5.x are updated to Drupal 6.

contrib.modules get disabled.
site gets set in offline mode
core files get deleted
new core files get uploaded
update.php gets run

then contrib modules are updated in the same fashion.

welcome to Drupal.
I am sure you will like it. Even I tried joomla first and than settled with Drupal.
I will also suggest you to install Druapl 5 now as many important modules are not available for Druapl 6.
