Sorry for the late reply, anyway here goes what I think (NOTE: I use Firefox so some of the problems may not exist in whatever browser you use):
1. In my opinion, your layout is pretty squashed. Try to avoid putting so many things / modules on one page.
2. Try to o avoid making people srolling left and right to see the whole page, reduce the width of the middle column to fix that.
3. Your page is WAY TO LONG, reduce the number of entries on the frong page. Also remove the image links at the bottom of the page.
Although I criticized your site quite a bit, I think it is still one of the good ones. Nice job!
The layout looks good to me, BUT:
- the horizontal scrollbar is caused by the long URL in the most recent post.
- I would make the logos at the bottom much smaller.

The layout looks good to me, BUT:

High rez big monitor
I use firefox and links
I have a 21 inch monitor and use 1280x1024 rez so I didn't notice the issue fixed it should look better now.

I agree with the horizontal scroll, it's annoying.
The rest it's just fine. Cool slashdot look.
