I have to say that I`m completely astonished! I mean I heard of drupal for the first time on friday, then downloaded it and now it is sunday evening and I feel like as if I`m a drupal junky now : ).
I downloaded version 6 at first and of course had my problems (mySql what? php who? Oh, module not available yet) but fortunately my provider has those mySql skills, so I just got the database infos, through them into drupal and was able to start a new website IN MINUTES!!!
I really want to thank all those people who contributed to this project.
Hopefully I`ll soon be able to contribute to this community, too!
I love you all! : )

hah...
yeah, drupal6 admin and install is really easy stuff - update status in core is great - really the hard part is the workflow comprehension, that seems to be where most questions stem from - like people want to do x or y and don't realize that sometimes you don't even need modules to achieve that, you can simply use existing node structures and so on...

The biggest problem with Drupal is that I have been trying to use Drupal for a couple of weeks now, and I still have no idea what in the world you just said. The vocabulary is completely unhelpful, and none of the manuals I have seen are remotely helpful. Maybe I am just looking at the wrong things, but Drupal is far from user-friendly.
i hear you, plain english rules
i agree - these forums are littered with questions from people who actually do understand system like drupal but just don't understand the drupal vernacular...there is a real need for some peter-rabbit style documentation (not to insult, i just mean literally to strip away all of the drupal jargon in favor of plain simple english for american and foreign users)...may try to write some of my own primers in the near future because it's a pretty serious need!
