Can I disable the right side bar on pages ?

gwcheck - March 9, 2008 - 21:46

Hi,

I'd like to know whether it is possible to allow the right side bar on one page and disable it on another page.

My test site looks like this :

Header
Left side bar - Main - Right side bar
Footer

I'd like to use the space of the Right side bar on several pages, but display the Right side bar on several pages as well. Can this be done ? Do I need a module ? Questions, anyone ?

Blocks

If you do not have any blocks in the right side-bar, it won’t be displayed. You can make blocks only display on certain pages: see /admin/build/block and the configure links for each block.

Note the answer is somewhat theme dependent.

Note the answer is somewhat theme dependent. While it is true that you can set the block visibility so the blocks do no show on certain pages and that will leave the right side bar empty, not all themes will "reuse" the space.

Well, it works ! I did see

Test the "Block Assign"

Test the "Block Assign" module
http://drupal.org/project/block_assign
"This module provides an alternate way to manage blocks. If you have many blocks that are displayed in different configurations across your site's pages, managing them through the standard blocks admin interface can be tedious."[I do not test this module]

Sounds cool, but it's 5.x
