Currently there is a country music news website that is run on Windows/ASP and uses a custom built CMS that will soon be converted to a hosted LAMP Drupal installation.

We are in need of a developer to help us carry out the conversion and building of the new site.

Here is a general overview of what is needed.

  • News Feed
    • Show top stories with headline, small description, and optional image
    • Each top story has a link to the full story
    • Each full story has the ability to have the link emailed
    • Show summary list of archived news stories with link to full archive list
    • RSS Feed
    • News stories are added by site admins
  • An About Us page, Partners page, etc. (relatively static information)
  • A page with Radio Station websites, links, images
  • Artist Pages
    • Page with alphabetical breakup (link for A, B, C, etc) of artists with a link to a full page of customer defined content for each artist
    • Each artist page would be based off of a simple template provided by us
      • Template allows admin to create paragraph content & headings, HTML tables (or something like it) to list other info, include links and images
      • Every page added auto-updates site map
      • Admin user has ability to customize/edit page name, page url, meta info, etc.
  • Links to other content pages such as music charts etc.
    • Customer defined links and content
  • Blog, with RSS feed
  • Forum
  • Calendar, with ability to add events by site admins
  • Embedded, existing, trivia game
  • Multi-category image gallery
  • Random images from gallery displayed on main page
  • Allow embedded ads from an adserver (currently Banmanpro)
  • Allow user registration
    • Registered users get a newsletter
    • Get access to a trivia game
    • Get access to post on forum
    • Import user data from existing system (approx. 350 users)
  • Promotions/contest module
    • Page describing the promotion
    • Promotion teaser on the homepage
    • Form for user submissions
    • Ability to add links, images to contest page
    • Configurable contest rules (for example: users can only enter once per day, or once per contest)
    • Closing contest will pick a winning user based on the following user configurable rules:
      • Purely random, cannot have won a contest in previous x number of contests, etc.
