E-commerce or Ubercart or other?

I am looking to set up a "one day one deal" type e-commerce site similar to Woot!. It appears to me that Ubercart and E-commerce are the most popular solutions. I am looking for speed, ease of use, and security. Does anyone have any previous experience in using these modules and any suggestion of which I should use? What are the pros and cons of each? Many thanks!
