What is Just.com launches with Drupal 5.7

Hello everyone. I just launched a focused community site called What is Just (http://www.whatisjust.com). The free service allows visitors to add cases for review to the court of public opinion, and to give justice to submitted cases. Registered visitors can add cases, vote and leave comments.

The site is hosted at MediatTemple.net using their low-end GridServer account. The (GS) allowed me to very quickly get provisioned, installed and running, with easy e-mail, database, cron and administrative setup, and they include Urchin.

The site uses the Deco theme with slight modifications to the style.

I use CCK and Views, with only two content type defined: Pages and Cases. Additional modules include:

* Administration Menu (for tidy administration)
* Link (for the cases)
* Tracker
* Faceted search: used as the primary search/browse tool. I use two vocabularies as facets, Filed under and Keywords, fixed and free-tagging respectively.
* Term display: disables the display of all tags, simplifying the display and also forcing the user to use the faceted search metaphor consistently
* Autosave: as a user convenience
* BuyMeABeer: it's an ad-free site
* DiggThis, Feedbuttons, Servicelinks, Forward, Share: all to help promote the site. Share provides an elegant alternative to links in the node
* Flag content: to monitor the community
* Global redirect: for the search engines
* Pathauto: for SEO purposes
* Similar entries: to guide users through the site
* XML sitemap: for SEO purposes
* Saveguard: as a user convenience
* jRating and Voting API to rate justice for cases
* External links: to afford external links to the User

That's about it. The site uses views to define the front page and main tabs. I use a service called yourminis.com to develop the widgets, which simply take the RSS feed from each view as input (each widget takes about 7 minutes to develop and deploy). The graphics are stock.

This was a for fun project, using a minimum amount of modifications and taking a week of nights and weekend to launch from idea to on. Since Drupal provides almost everything I needed, I got to pay attention to the user interaction, navigation design and to trying to keep the site simple but usable.

You've Done Well

How do you send users to the registration page when they click on post comment and send them back to post a comment afterwards? Is that a module too?

Nice Site... good Idea too

I like your site. I'm currently in the throes of theming my first drupal site, and am having a hard time at it... Just a week seems to me that you must be very experienced!
