In hierarchical vocabularies: Children terms not saved if parent is selected

Issue Summary

Hello, and thank you for this excellent module. It's doing much of what I've been looking for for so long.

I've been experiencing a few problems with (simple) hierarchical vocabularies:

  1. If not set to "multiple", the (pre-existing) term won't be saved in the node_table
  2. This vocab is not set for displaying parents as form items.

  3. If parents terms are set to be displayed as form items, which is what I need, children terms aren't saved, and only the parent term is displayed.
  4. My problem here is that I have a "Place" vocabulary. I have cities as parent terms and theatres as children. As many theatres are called "Théâtre Municipal", I just can't diplay this single term. I thought of adding my parent's term name to the children (current workaround) but it might be problematic for deep hierarchies.

Please provide screen shots of both your vocabulary settings and your ccktssu settings for the instance you are referring to.

Subscribe this issue,
I am having the same problem. I have a category where I also want to show the parent terms, but when choosing the parent term, selected children terms are not saved.

Parent1
Child11
Child12
Parent2
Child21
Child22

If I make parents selectable and choose Parent 1, Child12 , only Parent1 is saved.

UPDATE:
I have just reversed to version 5.1.0 , which does not have this problem.

Title:In hierarchical vocabularies: Children terms not saved if not multiple / with» In hierarchical vocabularies: Children terms not saved if parent is selected

Precisions (more correct topic name. May be duplicate, please check):

I get the error of children terms not being saved even when the vocabulary is set to multiple.

What I noticed is that children are saved as long as the parent term isn't selected.
