I wonder if it will be possible to upgrade, migrate or import node profiles or bios to the content profile module?

I would like to know this as well as I've nodeprofile is currently very important to my site. Thanks.

Would we be able to get away with just using the nodetype module to change our current bio/node profile to the new content profile type? Will the old content still be linked to the profile?

since beta1 bio and nodeprofile settings are imported automatically, so your profile node types will be marked as content profile too. There is no need to switch to the profile node type.

I'm re-opening this one, because I've just tried to migrate node_profile and it didn't work.

Followed the usual steps when migrating a site from D5 to D6.16. Content Profile didn't notice anything, nor the content type marked as "node_profile" enabled, neither the relationships between the profile nodes and the user objects.

What could have gone wrong? Thanks.

PS: node_profile version 5.x-1.4

I take this one back. It IS working. BUT I think it could be documented somewhere?

The thing that confused me was that the Content Profile module installed a "Profile" content type, while there was a "User Profile" created by node profile. I overlooked "User Profile" and tried to setup "Profile" which of course didn't work.

So, the steps should be:
1. DON'T USE Profile, just skip it.
2. Go to "User Profile", enable "Content Profile" and the end of the content type settings
3. Go to the tab, adjust anything else you may need now you have a more feature-rich version
4. Double check that your users are displaying the profile as well

HTH, salud
