Comment for a node with CCK fields

I created 3 CCK fields (node reference, integer, user reference) for a custom content type. I make all these fields as REQUIRED. When I added comment to a node posted under this custom content type, these required CCK fields except 'user reference' didn't show up in the main body of the node. I see the comment buy the node CCK fields are gone. Has anyone else have this experience? is this a bug and if so has it been reported already?
