Is this module dead? There has been no commit after the initial and the bug reports and existing patches haven't been addressed. Would be sad, as it is a good starting point and only needs some polish.

I second that. Managed to get it working using the zip file that had been posted elsewhere and appears to work ok. It would be nice though to have some other features like being able to replace an already uploaded file link with a new file that has the same name.
I started also to look at the code to see what would be required to modify it but am not really a Drupal coder yet!

I am also interested in status of a project. I would like to apply couple of more patches to it in future - do I just post new patches and create new zips - its far from good solution? I will definitely use this module in couple of my project in future and will test it and patch it with useful new functions.

If you'd like the ability to help maintain it I would first try to contact the module's creator. If they are unresponsive then I suggest opening a ticket for the Drupal.org web administrators asking for permissions to maintain the module so you can do updates.

I don't know why but I did not receive the email about this issue, well. I'm happy that someone is interested in OG Files.
I gotta give OG Files more attention. ;)
