Hello, the Drupal community does not have any representatives who deal exclusively with hosting companies and their needs in the Drupal project. We have a list of over 75 hosting companies that have posted to this forum. We are aware that there are over 25 000 hosting companies in the world (or so we've been told).

As part of the Drupal.org re-design we are looking for individuals who understand the needs of hosting companies and can help ensure that the voice of hosting companies is heard. We would like for Drupal to be made available to as many people as possible. The 25 000 hosting companies can play a big role in making that possible. We understand that hosting is a tough commodity business and it is very competitive. We are looking for individuals who can rise above the competitive pressures and lend an ear and a welcome hand to hosting companies that want to contribute back to the Drupal project.

Tasks:
* Develop a list of hosting companies that currently provide Drupal
* Develop a list of hosting companies that don't provide Drupal and determine why, and what we can do to make Drupal more attractive to them
* Identify the business practices and needs of hosting companies and help the Drupal community to understand their view point
* Produce information that is specifically designed to explain to hosting companies how the Drupal community works and how they can participate in the community
* Represent the needs and desire of hosting companies in the upcoming Drupal.org redesign, as one of many constituents in the redesign.

This is not a official position, and does not come with any particular benefits, other than the reward of contributing back to the Drupal project. All the information you gather should be shared openly with the community, and converted into documentation or marketing materials for the Drupal project. Any recommendations for the redesign of Drupal.org should be posted in the Drupal.org redesign group for community review.

Cheers,
Kieran
