Without SWF Tools FlashNode is less useful. Are there any plans to upgrade the 5.0 version of SWF Tools to 6.0 ?

prodosh commentedAre there any plans for a Drupal 6.0 version? This is a really great and stable module and it would be a pity if we had to look for other solutions in Dupal 6.

whatistocome commentedCheck out this screencast that explains how to use cck+filefield+jquerymedia to get get flash movies (and other media types) onto your site. Works in Drupal 5 and 6. Was quick and easy to set up -works as advertised.

Stuart Greenfield commentedI have made a start at porting SWF Tools. It's early days, but locally I have it running with direct embedding. I haven't started moving the javascript modules as I'm starting with the main module, but it is at least generating menus, the settings pages and direct markup.
Can't make any promises as to how quickly I'll get this done as I'm fitting this around my regular job/life!
When it's a bit further developed I'll post the code.
Update - 24/07/08
Going well - SWF Tools itself is working, SWFObject is up and running, generic player and Wijering appear to be working. Needs a bit more work, but hopefully something suitable for testing shortly.

Stuart Greenfield commentedI have just committed the first version of SWF Tools for Drupal 6. It is available from branch DRUPAL-6--1 on CVS, or as a dev package from the project page.

Stuart Greenfield commentedWork is coming on well!
Most of the core is done now, as are most of the player modules.
Some neat new stuff too, like support for SWF Object 2, support for private file systems, the ability to produce standards compliant code, and some improved filter mechanisms that mean it is easier to get the SWF Filter up and running.
It's all in the DRUPAL-6-1 branch, or in the dev package if you want to try it out.

Stuart Greenfield commentedSetting to fixed as new releases of SWF Tools 5.x-2.0 and SWF Tools 6.x-1.1 are now available which address this issue.
