i tried to go back to 4.7 using the backups and although what i get looks like my site, logging in or clicking any link at all gives me non drupal 404 messages.
any clue about that?

by going to /?q=admin/modules i could log in and it tells me i need the filemanager module, which i did and enabled but i still get 404's?

When upgrading it's recommended to disable all contrib modules and themes and turn clean urls off.

I got the same error, until I deleted the database, and started over, and then it worked fine. The second time, I had already fixed the access to files, etc, so the install process was not interrupted.

Perhaps it partially sets up the database, and then displays the error message, and then when you retry, it tries to load the initiaalaization SQL again, causing the error.

Hello,

I got the same problem when upgrading from 5.14 to 6.8.

I did the updates of all 5 modules, I also modified the 6 settings in place of using the 5 one.

If I go further, I get a runnin site, but all menus are duplicated!

Any suggestion welcome

It allows to get rid of the error message on the site pages

but the problem of duplicated menus (in navigation) is still there......

concerning the duplicated menus, I deleted the duplicates directly in PHPMyAdmin (http://drupalfr.org/node/5301).

Everything seems ok
