Join Documentation team

Drupal documentation relies on volunteer effort. The current documentation team coordinator is Addison Berry.

How to join the documentation team

You need not apply to be a part of the documentation team. Once you edit or create new pages using the "add child page" link in the handbook, then you're part of the team. Go ahead and find a handbook page that you feel needs improvement or revamping and hit the big edit button at the top. Pages with lots of comments are often a good choice -- you can incorporate comments and clarifications directly. Read more about Incorporating comments and Quick ways to improve documentation.

Some parts of the handbook are only editable by Documentation Admins. If you have been helping out for a while and want to have more responsibility, you must apply for admin access.

To contribute good documentation, don't forget to review the Documentation Writer's Guide and the Handbook style guide before you start.

Keep up with the team discussions

Mailing list
You can subscribe to the documentation mailing list, or at least appreciate that you can follow the exchanges using the documentation archives.
IRC
You can also chat real-time with other members of the documentation team in the #drupal-docs channel on IRC.
Group page
There is also a read-only Documentation group page that posts important announcements, events, and summaries of discussions and issues.
