Description
Many of us here think diff is a worthwile addition to core Drupal. So lets prepare a core patch which proposes this. Here is a quick list of whats needed. Please add more items, and volunteer to lead the effort.
1. A developer needs to write the patch and nurture it until commit
2. #233834: Move file from diff module to cck
3. #239071: Enhance theme_table for colgroup tag
4. #239061: Patch for coding standards

#1
I hyperlinked the items in this issue. i also created DROP tasks for the last 2.
#2
I posted a patch for #3.
who's up for #4 - edit diffengine.php to meet drupal code style standards?
#3
OK folks - anyone up for writing the core patch? All the prerequisites are done.
#4
I'm still feeling the ramifications of my last move-a-big-module-into-core (#94154: update.module in core (formerly known as update_status)), and I'm way behind on so many other things, I think I'm the wrong candidate for this job. Sorry. :( That said, I hope this works. diff.module would be vastly more useful in core than, say, poll.module. ;)
#5
I committed a HEAD version of diff and started the process of moving it into core. See #120955: Integrate diff into core
