"apply for role" tab is listed when viewing profiles of other users than the one logged in, thus creating confusion.
however, it doesn't apply on behalf of that other user, thus being just a UI issue.

vv7 commented...and to 6.x-1.0 too.

Soren Jones commentedNice job! That's definitely a bug. And it's my fault. Fortunately, it's easy to fix. I'll submit a patch in a bit. Thanks, again!
Soren Jones commentedPatches are attached for 6 and 6 -dev (HEAD).
vv7 commentedplease drop a note after you submit this to CVS.
let me be precise.
the patch (at least, the one for v6) doesn't seem to fix the issue: the "apply for role" tab is still present when browsing someone else's profile...
Soren Jones commentedI think the menu is cached, so you probably just need to clear your cache.
Soren Jones commentedJust in case you're not sure how to do that, go to the admin/settings/performance page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Clear cached data" button.
vv7 commentedhm. clearing the cache helped, although caching was disabled...
thanks for the tip.

vv7 commentedsorry for repeated posting; my internet connection happened to glitch badly that time.
Soren Jones commentedNo problem. It happens to everyone now and then.
As for the issue tracker.... Once the patch is applied the workflow will be changed to fixed. After two weeks with no activity it will automatically change to closed.
The patch will be probably be applied sometime in the next week.
Thanks again for pointing out this bug.
