I continue to test Ubercart to PayPal WPS sandbox integration for a membership product with a role assignment. For a while I was convinced that Workflow-NG wasn't making my role assignment happen, but that isn't the case. As it turns out, I am completing successful transactions in the sandbox (seller's account is credited and buyer's account is debited) but that data is not getting back to Ubercart. The order remains Pending with a positive balance shown in Ubercart. I have found that I am able to update the order from Pending to Complete manually, which proves that the role assignment does happen.
So, now it's looking like it is the transaction data that is not successfully transferring back from PayPal and/or Ubercart isn't receiving it or applying it correctly.
Can you advise as to next steps for troubleshooting this? I'm lost on what to do at this point.

WISEOZ commentedAs it turns out, system security we had set up was preventing the transaction from successfully completing. This has now been resolved.

Renzy commentedCan you give some indication of what 'system security' refers to here? I have the same issue where the payments are showing up in my merchant paypal sandbox account, but they are shown as 'pending' on the test user account I created to purchase the fake products on my ubercart site.
