Hi,

I got the nodeforum module for 90% working.
Nodeforum is a copy of the standard Drupal forum module, but it builds nodes as an extra!

The reason I am using the nodeforum is because I already selected the nodecomment module before for comments on my content.
To be able to get forum functionality I saw that nodeforum then was the way to go.

I downloaded the module from cvs: http://cvs.drupal.org/viewvc.py/drupal/contributions/modules/nodeforum/ and starting to look into it. I got it somewhat working and attaching it in this post.
I got out some minor bugs which are related to not 100% converting "forum" to "nodeforum" and chaning the initial node-hook.

What is not working 100% ok is:
- the forum taxonomy immidiately. When I want to place a new forum message the taxonomy is not chosen.
- the forum internal url is not shown in the menu.

Could somebody with more programming skills please look into this. Thanks for Eaton for posting the initial one, I hope it will be put on drupal.org as a project very soon.

Hi Forum reply is also not working correctly it is stated as node/add/0

I'm not a programmer, but I just want to throw my support behind this mod and hope you get someone to help you out with it so the community can benefit from it. My users would sure appreciate it because it would allow me to create a view of all forum activity instead of dealing with posts vs comments.

I hereby would like to ask an account on drupal.org, to get www.drupal.org/project/nodeforum on the roll.
I will put my working nodeforum module on it. I tried getting in contact with initial module maker Eaton, but he didn't reply yet.
Please respond in PM with the accountinformation how I can get this working.

Would this allow me to create a node page, and allow a corresponding forum to follow below it, rather than comments?

Hi Rovo,
I do not know yet.
I am still in the process to get an cvs account. After two weeks no response yet..
But what I can tell you is that when this module is there, you can have forum-messages and forum-replies as nodes, so you can do with it what you can do with other nodetypes.

I already use the nodecomment.module, which works great and am testing my own version of the nodeforum module.
