Forum user titles?

Does anyone know if a module exists that allows assigning of arbitrary user titles?
I found one that assigns titles based on post count and another that allows images (badges) based on the user group, but what I need is the ability to recognize people within a group and not the entire group (and making an additional group with exactly the same access permissions for each user I want to recognize would be a very bad idea).
Any help is appreciated.
User Titles module
With User Titles, you can assign arbitrary titles to each user as well as by post count. Just don't define any titles for post count (or just assign a default title like 'Member' for 0 posts), then assign each user a title through their account edit page. This is an undocumented feature, but works well.
