Index blocks

Recently I someone asked me whether it would be possible to show a list of terms in a block and if the amount of nodes in those terms.

I can think of two ways to let Vocabindex create blocks: create a admin page where users can create a block per vocabulary or display a checkbox with every vocabulary settings fieldset on the page where the index page paths can be set as well. The former might be a bit overdone, but the latter makes the vocabulary settings page more cluttered (especially with some of the upcoming features like termindex pages).

What are your thoughts about this?
