making profile fields editable fields

It looks like you can't make profile fields editable fields....is that right?

I don't see the option in the views to make them editable.

I want to make a user list with editable fields. The reason I use the profile module instead of bio is that it's an older site (pre-v5, now upgraded to 5) with a lot of profile fields and we use the profile_csv module heavily to download user data.

I have the usernode module enable to allow profile fields to be put into views...but you can't flag the profile fields as editable because they are not CCK fields.

Is there anyway to make them editable? I have a number of sites that use the core profile module for member info and also wish to use the profile_csv module for exporting data. I'd find some sort of bridge extremely useful on a number of sites.
